Longest Domain Name
Not totally suprisingly a village in Wales boasts one of the longest domain names in the world.
The domain is:
www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.com
This is possible due to the original 26 character limit to the length of a domain being increased to 63.
Of course most domain name registrations are not this long! The most common length is seven characters. Very short domain names are very much sought after with two character domains almost impossible to register or fetching hefty premiums in the domain aftermarket.
Shorter domain names are easier to recall and less likely to get entered incorrectly. Unfortuneatly its getting harder all the time to get a domain name
